Orr Shalom

A few years ago, I met the love of my life. A few years later we decided to get married. But after a few months of being engaged, we didn’t make any real progress. We were very confident in our choice to share our life together, as in our decision to celebrate it with our loved ones. But we were struggling with the idea of spending so much time, money and energy on one night. Just in case you have never been to an Israeli wedding- five hundred guests are considered a small family gathering, a few hundred thousand spent- a reasonable investment, and three dress changes- the bare minimum. Well… we decided to do something we felt will set the tone for our married life in a way an extra centerpiece or flower arrangement simply can’t. And that was our second best mutual decision, right next to deciding to spend our life together.

We teamed up with an NPO called Orr Shalom, an organization creating a new life for children placed in foster care due to parental incompatibly, neglection and sexual, physical and mental abuse. Alongside all our amazing wedding vendors we made the perfect summer party for these incredible kids and their inspiring foster families. This first event was declared a huge success so we decided to make this our annual anniversary celebration.

The Orr Shalom family have became our family and this once a year gathering, a day we look forward to all year long.
